Forget Coffins — Your Loved One’s Ashes Can Now Be Swirled Into Beautiful Art Creations

(TMU) — Though few of us like to discuss death, it is an inevitability that will one day claim us all. For this reason, there should be no shame in contemplating various methods of burial. In fact, you may even find yourself delighted by some of the newer post-death options. Not only can your loved one’s ashes be turned into a tree, but a Seattle-based company now specializes in swirling the ashes into beautiful glass art.

As My Modern Met reports, is helping its customers through the grieving process by creating unique memorials for the departed.

“Our artists capture the essence of your loved ones spirit in a swirl of color and ashes, sealed forever within beautiful glass art. These amazing pieces comfort your grieving, allowing you to hold and treasure your memories.”

Artful Ashes uses one tablespoon of a loved one’s ashes and swirls them into a glass orb, heart or angle wings, typically with vibrant colors and metallic touches. Customers can also have a message or their loved one’s name inscribed on it. Throughout the entire process, the company takes special care in separating, storing, and labelling the ashes.

One Reddit user says each piece costs $145. However, you can request more information on the Artful Ashes website.

The hearts are approximately 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches and weigh 14 ounces and the orbs are about 3 inches across and 14 ounces. Finally, the Angel Wings are about 1 1/4 inches across and 1 ounce. All designs are made from solid glass.

I’m sorry it has been so long for us to be able to post a picture of this beautiful work. Caitlin passed in July 2017. We have gone through holidays always hoping she would still walk through the door with her laugh. It’s been a hard and still is. So thankful that Artful Ashes has let us keep her close to our hearts.
