(ANTIMEDIA) Various activist groups and concerned citizens are coming together to oppose the Chicago Police’s secret torture detention center also known as Homan Square.
Chicago Police are operating a secret detention facility that mirrors the CIA’s “black sites.” From violations of due process to torture, the revelations raise serious concerns about the deteriorating state of freedom and justice in the United States.
Activists will take part in a social media storm to raise awareness on Friday at 8pm EST/5 PST, with the goal of making the hashtag #Gitmo2Chicago trend social websites (note: please don’t use the hashtag until the start time). RSVP and details for the social media storm event can be found here. If you don’t use Facebook, details can be found here.
Anonymous has declared #OpHomanSquare Engaged, and a boots on the ground protest has been established and set for Saturday at 3 pm CST, at 3379 Fillmore St in Chicago, according to Free Thought Project. You can RSVP and see details of the event here. The goal is to shut down Homan Square.
Will you be there?

…We have a small favor to ask. Fewer and fewer people are seeing Anti-Media articles as social media sites crack down on us, and advertising revenues across the board are quickly declining. However, unlike many news organizations, we haven’t put up a paywall because we value open and accessible journalism over profit — but at this point, we’re barely even breaking even. Hopefully, you can see why we need to ask for your help. Anti-Media’s independent journalism and analysis takes substantial time, resources, and effort to produce, but we do it because we believe in our message and hope you do, too.
